Dum ke semiya is a traditional dessert specially prepared on the occasion of Eid-Ul-Fitr. After completion of 30 days of fasting, all of them enjoy the delicious sheer khurma, semiya kesari, choba semiya.

Ingredients for dum ke semiya
  1. semiya – 3 cups
  2. sugar – 2 1/2 cup
  3. khoya – 3/4 cup
  4. ghee – 1 cup
  5. milk – 1 glass
  6. cardamons – 11
  7. orange-red food colour – 1/4 spoon
  8. water – 1 glass
For garnish
  1. cashew nuts – 1/2 cup
  2. raisins – 1/2 cup
  3. melon seeds – 1/2 cup
Procedure for dum ke semiya
Frying semiya
  1. Heat a pan over a medium flame add ghee.
  2. Fry cashew nuts, raisins, melon seeds each of them separately until it turns to golden and set aside.
  3. Fry semiya till it turns to golden and set aside.
Cooking semiya
  1. Heat a pan boil a glass of water.
  2. Add orange-red food colour and cardamons mix well.
  3. Add fried semiya cook until the water gets evaporated.
  4. Pour a glass of milk stirs well cook for 2 minutes.
  5. Add sugar mix well, until the sugar dissolves completely.
Mixing khoya and dry fruits
  1. Add fried cashew nuts, raisins and melon seeds.
  2. Add khoya mix well. Let the semiya dum for 5 minutes over low flame.
  3. Switch off the fire. Serve semiya into a bowl.
  4. Enjoy the delicious dum key semiya.
