Peda recipe is an instant Indian traditional milk sweet, can easily made with in 15 minutes. Doodh peda is a most popular recipe with melting flavors milkmaid, milk powder, ghee, boiled milk and cardamom powder which is topped with halved almonds. Any one can prepare this milk peda. Milk peda in simple steps. The first step is to mix all the ingredients one by one and stir continuously to avoid lumps. The second step is to make a thick mixture and it starts leaving the sides. The third step is to add a spoon of ghee and make a dough. The fourth step is to cool slightly and roll a round shape, top with the halved almonds and slightly press it.

Tips for making perfect peda:

  • Carefully cook all the mixture at low flame.
  • Prefer boiled milk(if it cool or hot it doesn’t matter).
  • I have used nestle everyday regular milk powder.
  • Stir continuously until it forms a dough.
  • Knead the dough and make it smooth texture.
  • Grease your hands with a spoon of ghee. The mixture is sticky.
  • While shaping peda dough should be still warm.
  • Place the distance between each peda.

Ingredients
Ingredients for doodh peda:
  • ghee – 3 spoons
  • milkmaid -200 g(1/2 tin)
  • milk – 1/4 cup
  • milk powder – 1 cup
  • cardamom powder – 1/4 spoon
  • almonds – 9
Instructions
Procedure for doodh peda:
Making peda:
  1. Heat a non stick pan over a low flame add 2 spoons of ghee.

  2. Add 1/2 tin(200 g) of milkmaid.

  3. Add 1/4 cup of boiled milk and mix well.

  4. Add a cup of milk powder.

  5. Stir continuously without lumps, carefully at low flame.

  6. The mixture thickens and starts leaving the sides of the pan.

  7. Add 1/4 spoon of cardamom powder and a spoon of ghee.

  8. Stir continuously the mixture seperates from pan and holds the shape.

  9. Stir continuously until it forms a dough.

  10. At this stage switch off the fire, Slightly cool it.

  11. Knead the dough and make it smooth texture.

Shaping peda:
  1. Grease your hands with a spoon of ghee.

  2. While shaping peda dough should be still warm.

  3. Take a small portion of dough.

  4. Roll as a small ball size, slightly press at the center.

  5. Top with halved almonds or pistachios.

  6. Take into a serving plate. Place the distance between each peda.

  7. Let it cool completely.

  8. Can store in an air tight container for 15 days.
