Raita is a quick recipe served as a side dish with biryani and pulao. We can prepare raita in different varieties with veggies. Here I have prepared onion carrot raita in a very simple way. Just mix all the ingredients with beaten curd and refrigerate till the time of serving.

To prepare onion carrot raita in simple steps. The first step is to grate the carrot, finely chop the green chillies, coriander leaves and onions. The second step is to mix all the veggies with a spoon of salt. The third step is to add the beaten curd mix till all the spices are mixed.

Ingredients for onion carrot raita:
  • Yoghurt – 1 cup
  • grated carrot – 1
  • finely chopped green chillies – 2
  • chopped onions – 1
  • chopped coriander leaves – a handful
  • salt – 1 spoon
Instructions
Procedure for onion carrot raita:
  1. Take a bowl to add grated carrot and chopped coriander leaves.

  2. Also, add chopped onions and finely chopped green chillies.

  3. Add a spoon of salt mi well.

  4. Add little water and beat the curd.

  5. Add a cup of beaten curd.

  6. Mix well till the yoghurt and all spices are mixed.

  7. Garnish with coriander leaves.

  8. Refrigerate raita till the time of serving.

  9. Serve as a side dish with any veg or non-veg biryani recipes, jeera pulao. 

Recipe Notes

Taste and adjust the salt.

Step by step procedure for onion carrot raita:

Grate the carrot, chop the onions, green chillies and coriander leaves.

Take a bowl to add grated carrot and chopped coriander leaves.

Also, add chopped onions and finely chopped green chillies.

Add a spoon of salt.

Mix well all the spices before adding yoghurt. Taste and adjust the salt.

Add little water and beat the curd. Add a cup of beaten curd.

Mix well till the yoghurt and all spices are mixed. I do not like too thick raita. Adjust the thickness of raita according to the taste.

Garnish with coriander leaves. Refrigerate the raita till the time of serving. Serve as a side dish with any veg or non-veg biryani recipes, jeera pulao.
