Chicken Sorrel Gravy | Chicken Chukkakura | Chicken Curry | Chukkakura Chicken

 A delicious chicken fried with all the spices and mixed with sorrel leaves with a wonderful taste.

Ingredients

  • Chicken(skinless) - 1/2 kg
  • sorrel leaves- 2 cups
  • Curry leaves - 7
  • Chopped onions - 1
  • Chopped tomato - 1
  • Chopped green chili - 1
  • Coriander leaves - 1 cup
  • Ghee - 1 spoon
  • Oil - 7 spoons
  • Salt - 2 spoons
  • Ginger and garlic paste - 2 spoons
  • water - 1/4 glass

Spice powders

  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 spoon
  • Red chilli powde r - 1 spoon
  • Garam masala powder - 1 spoon
  • Chicken masala powder - 1 spoon

Instructions

Frying chicken with all the spices

  1. Heat a pan over a medium flame add ghee and oil.

  2. Add chopped onions and curry leaves mix well and sautes them.

  3. Add ginger and garlic paste, fry till the raw smell disappears.

  4. Add chopped tomato and green chillies fry for a minute.

  5. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and salt.

  6.  Add garam masala powder and chicken masala powder mix well the spice powders.

  7. Add chicken pieces mix well. Until the chicken absorbs all the spices.

  8. Close the lid and let it cook for 5 minutes.

Adding sorrel leaves to chicken

  1. Add chopped sorrel leaves and coriander leaves close the lid. Wait for a minute and mix well.

  2.  Add enough water to cook the chicken according to the consistency required.

  3.   Check whether the chicken is soft or not.

  4.  Once chicken becomes soft our curry is ready. Chicken sorrel gravy is ready to serve.

  5. Garnish with coriander leaves and enjoy the delicious chicken sorrel gravy with Rice. And also taste with rice, pulkas, parathas and even with naan.
