Ingredients for gulab jamun:

For making dough:

  • Gulab jam powder – 1 cup
  • Ghee – 2 spoon
  • Milk -3/4 cup

For sugar syrup:

  • Sugar – 2 cups
  • water -1 cup
  • Crushed cardamom - 6

Instructions

Procedure for gulab jamun:

Making dough:

  1. Take a bowl to add ready-made instant mix MTR gulab jamun powder, ghee, milk and mix well.

  2. Carefully add milk, gradually little by little milk to make the dough.

  3. Add a spoon of oil and make a soft dough, keep it aside for 10 minutes.

Preparing sugar syrup:

  1.  Heat a pan over the medium flame add sugar, water, and crushed cardamon and stir well.

  2. Boil the water for 10 minutes, until the sugar completely melted.

  3.   Make a little thick sugar syrup and keep aside.

Shaping dough:

  1. Now our dough is ready to prepare, press the dough and make softer.

  2. It should be very soft and can be available to make balls.

  3. Take a small size dough and press it in your palms to shape it into the ball even as bitter gourd shape.

  4.  Shape the balls without cracks otherwise, it will break while we dip in sugar syrup. Repeat the same for all of them.

Deep fry & dip gulab jamun in sugar syrup:

  1.  Heat a pan in medium flame and add oil for deep fry.

  2. Add the shaped balls into the pan and fry on both sides until it turns into brown

  3. Remove the gulab jamun from oil and immediately dip them into the warm sugar syrup.

  4.  Repeat the same for the rest of them

  5. Leave for at least 10 minutes in the sugar syrup.

  6.  Serve the soft gulab jamun and it is ready to melt in your mouth.

Recipe Notes

Knead the dough. Take a small size dough and press it in your palms to shape it into the ball without cracks. 

If there are any cracks in the balls gulab jamun will break when we dip in sugar syrup.
