Ingredients

Ingredients for oats porridge:

  • Oats -1 cup
  • Ghee - 4 spoons
  • Milk - 500ml
  • Jaggery - 1/4 cup
  • Water - 1/4 glass

Dry fruits for oats kheer:

  • Deseeded Dates - 9
  • Dry dates - 3
  • Cashew nuts - 12
  • Almonds - 9
  • Walnuts - 5
  • Pistachio - 12
  • Raisins - 30

Instructions

Step by step procedure for oats porridge:

Blending in 5 minutes:

  1. Take a blender jar to add oats. Grind to a fine powder and set aside.

  2. Add cashew nuts, almonds, walnuts, pistachio, chopped dry dates in blender jar. Blend them coarsely and set aside.

  3. Add dates, raisins and a spoon ghee in the blender jar, blend them and set aside.

Roasting in 5 minutes:

  1. Heat a pan over a medium flame add ghee, nuts and dry dates powder stir.

  2. Fry for 2 minutes until it turns golden.

  3. Add oats powder to the pan stir well and fry for 3 minutes

Pouring milk and cooking for 10 minutes:

  1. Pour boiled milk into the pan mix well. Pour little water and let it cook for 5 minutes.

  2. Add blended dates and raisins to the pan. Mix well continuously to avoid lumps.

  3. Adjust milk as for thickness of oats porridge. Switch off the fire. Let it cool for a minute.

  4. Add grated jaggery give a mix. Let it melt for a minute.

  5. Take oats kheer into a serving bowl.

Garnish:

  1. Garnish with nuts, raisins, and dates. Serve oats kheer chilled as a breakfast.

Recipe Notes

Dates and raisins serve as a natural sweetener. Can avoid jaggery or can add honey. These two are optional.

Do not add jaggery in the hot oats porridge. let it cool for a minute.
