mutton kofta curry | meatball kofta | mutton kofta | keema kofta

The fried Kofta dipped into the hot gravy and then serve with hot chapati, roti or rice and enjoy this mouthwatering dish.

Ingredients

For kofta

  • mutton keema – 100g
  • ginger and garlic paste – 1 spoon
  • turmeric powder – 1/4 spoon
  • red chilli powder – 1 spoon
  • garam masala powder – 1/2 spoon
  • salt – 1 spoon
  • chopped coriander leaves – 1/2 cup
  • mint leaves – 1/2 cup
  • gram flour (besan) – 1/4 cup
  • oil – 3 spoons

For gravy

  • oil – 4 spoons
  • onion paste – 1 cup
  • turmeric powder – 1/4 spoon
  • red chilli powder – 1 spoon
  • garam masala powder – 1/2 spoon
  • salt – 1 spoon
  • tomato paste – 1 cup
  • curd – 1/4 cup
  • slit green chillies – 2
  • chopped coriander leaves – 1/4 cup
  • water – 1 glass

Instructions

(1) Preparation of kofta

Mixing spices and shaping

  1. Take a bowl add keema, ginger and garlic paste. Add turmeric, red chilli, garam masala powders and salt.

  2. Add fresh mint and coriander leaves. Add gram flour mix well all the spices. 

  3. Knead well till all the spices are mixed well. 

  4. Make 9 equal portions of the mixture. Flat and make into a round shape. Set aside.

Frying kofta:

  1. Heat pan over medium flame add oil for shallow fry.Place the koftas and fry on both sides till they turns golden brown and set aside.

(2) Preparation of gravy

  1. Heat a pan over medium flame add oil, onion paste mix well.

  2. Add ginger and garlic paste. Fry till the raw smell disappears.


  3. Add turmeric, red chilli, garam masala powders and salt.

  4. Add tomato paste mix well and fry for a minute.

  5. Add curd mix well. Pour a glass of water. Cook for 5 minutes till the oil gets separate

(3) Adding kofta to gravy

  1. Place the koftas to the pan close the lid and cook for sometime. 

  2. Add slit green chilies and fresh coriander leaves mix well.

  3. Adjust salt and consistency of gravy according to the taste. Cook at low flame until the oil gets separate. Serve mutton kofta curry with roti, chapati, pulkas.
