The deep fried crisp Indian bread dipped into the warm milk and soaked into the sugar syrup. Finally mixed with khova, fried nuts, raisins, melon seeds and placed at dum.
Heat a pan pour 1/2 glass of water and 2 cups of sugar.
Stir well till the sugar dissolves completely.
Add 12 crushed cardamom mix well.
Add 1/4 spoon of red-orange food colour stir immediately to avoid lumps.
Adjust sugar and food colour according to your taste.
If you observe the bubbles, switch off the fire and set aside.
Heat a pan over a medium flame add 1/2 cup of ghee.
Fry 1/2 cup of cashew nuts till it turns golden colour.
Take into the bowl and set aside.
Fry 1/2 cup of raisins till it turns light golden colour and set aside.
Fry 1/2 cup of melon seeds till it turns golden and set aside.
Do not fry all of them at a time. Fry them separately for better taste.
Adjust oil and ghee, fry the bread slices one by one.
Place one bread slice into the ghee & oil. Fry on both sides until it turn crisp.
Turn immediately to avoid burning.
Boil 2 glass of full cream milk.
Place the warm milk and sugar syrup side by side.
Dip the crisp bread slice into the warm milk.
And immediately soak into the sugar syrup.
Similarly, fry the bread slice dip int the warm milk and soak in sugar syrup.
Repeat the same process for all the bread slices.
Place the soaked bread slices pan over a low flame.
Add a cup of khoya(khova) mix it once.
Add fried cashew nuts, raisins and melon seeds.
Slightly mix all of them. Close and let it dum for 5 minutes.
Can also add ghee at this stage if necessary. This is optional.
Can observe the halwa releases ghee our double ka meetha is ready.
Do not mix too much it will become mushy. Let the bread should be like tukda for a delicious taste.
Take into the bowl. Serve warm or cold and enjoy the dessert.
