Atta cake with simple steps. The first step is to make batter, dissolve jaggery, mix oil, yogurt, wheat flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, milk to make a smooth batter. Mix special ingredients dry fruits. Transfer the batter into the cake tin. place the cake tin in a preheated pan and bake for 40-50 minutes. Insert toothpick and check whether it is clear or not. Let it cool and enjoy.

Tips for baking a perfect aata cake:

  • Dissolve the jaggery completely, otherwise the cake will become hard.
  • Do not pour the milk at a time. Gradually add milk according to consistency of batter.
  • By mixing flour in dry fruits, the it will not set at the bottom of the cake.
  • Bake for 40-50 minutes in a preheated pan.
  • Insert toothpick and check whether it is clear or not.
  • If tooth pick is not clear that means our cake is not cooked completely.
  • Cover the lid and bake for another 10 minutes or more, till the tooth pick is clear.
  • Can also bake the cake at 180 degree celsius for 40 minutes.

Ingredients for wheat cake:
For batter:
  • oil – 1/2 cup
  • jaggery (gud) – 3/4 cup(grated)
  • yogurt – 1/2 cup
  • wheat flour (atta) – 1 cup
  • baking powder – 1 tsp
  • baking soda – 1/2 tsp
  • salt – 2 pinches
  • milk – 1 cup
  • chopped dates (khajoor) – 7
  • chopped cashew nuts (kaju) – 1/4 cup
  • raisins (kishmish) – 1/4 cup
  • crushed cardamom – 4
for garnish:
  • halved dates – 6
  • cashew nuts – 9
  • raisins – 7
Instructions
Procedure for wheat cake:
Preheat the pan and dust the cake tin with flour:
  1. Heat a pan over low flame add salt or sand.

  2. Place the stand or ring cutter or any other object, just to elevate height.

  3. Close the lid and preheat the pan for 10 minutes.

  4. Take the cake tin or cake mould apply a spoon of oil or butter.

  5. Dust with a spoon of wheat flour and remove the excess flour.

How to make wheat flour cake batter:
  1. Take a bowl add 1/2 cup of oil.

  2. Add 3/4 cup of jaggery whisk well.

  3. Add 1/2 cup of curd whisk well until the jaggery dissolves.

  4. Whisk well to make a smooth and creamy texture.

  5. Sieve wheat flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt.

  6. Make sure there is no lumps.

  7. Mix well in one direction or cut and fold method.

  8. Gradually pour milk to make a smooth batter.

  9. Make a thick batter.

Adding dry fruits:
  1. chop the dates and cashew nuts.

  2. Mix a spoon of wheat flour, chopped dates, cashew nuts, raisins and crushed cardamom. This is optional.

  3. Add dry fruits to the batter mix well.

  4. Pour milk according to the consistency of thickness of batter.

  5. Battery is ready. Transfer into the cake tin.

  6. Pat the tin twice to remove air bubbles.

How to bake the cake without oven:
  1. Place the cake tin in a preheated pan or oven.

  2. Top with dates, cashew nuts and raisins.

  3. Cover the lid and bake for 40-50 minutes.

  4. Insert the toothpick and check whether it is clear or not.

  5. If toothpick is not clear, bake for another 10 minutes.

  6. Switch off the fire. Let it cool completely.

  7. Clear the sides with the help of knife.

  8. Take into a serving plate.

  9. Cut into the slices and enjoy the healthy, sugar free aata cake recipe.
